ARE YOUR FREIGHT COSTS TOO HIGH?

We all know that product cost is not the end of the story.   Freight costs can add a considerable amount to the final product cost, what we call the ‘total landed cost.’  When comparing your product prices among different suppliers, it is important to always use the total landed costs.

At ClearWater Gear, our focus is to provide the lowest possible landed costs for our customers.  There are two methods for shipping: by package freight ( for smaller quantity orders ) or full pallets.  We have very good freight discount rates with FedEx for package freight, for smaller orders.

Shipping in full pallet increments is the least expensive way to order your goods.  We have negotiated exceptional pallet rates throughout the Northwest, plus discounted LCL rates to other parts of the country.

We are developing a second means of freight savings on pallets, which is our Percentage Rate Discount.  With this program, we subsidize a portion of the freight bill on full pallets.  The discount starts with just one pallet, and increases with additional pallets for the same order.  We will pick up a portion of the freight cost, with the percentage of subsidy increasing as the pallet quantity increases.

With the fuel surcharge rate bouncing up and down ( mostly up ), it is difficult if not impossible to set a fixed discount rate chart that is accurate day to day.   To learn more about the Percentage Rate Program, and to calculate your discount, just give us a call so we can discuss your particular needs.

Final Landed Cost – that is the number you’ll want to compare.
